M-Pesa integration services that survive a real Friday evening

We wire M-Pesa Daraja, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money and Paystack into your product, then handle the callbacks, retries and reconciliation that decide whether the money matches the books.

What we build

  • STK Push checkouts: the customer sees a prompt on their phone, enters a PIN and your system hears about it.
  • C2B and B2C: paybill and till collections in, payouts and refunds out.
  • Multi-rail checkout: M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money and cards behind one screen, currency-aware and mobile-first.
  • Split payments: one customer payment shared automatically between vendors.
  • Statement queries and reconciliation: a daily match between what Safaricom says arrived and what your database says was sold.

Where payment integrations usually go wrong

The happy path takes an afternoon. The trouble arrives later: a callback that never fires, a customer who pays twice, a payment that lands after your page timed out.

So we design for the failure first. Every payment gets a state, every callback is checked and stored, and a job compares your records with the provider's. You can read the detail in how failed and duplicate payments are handled.

Whether to go direct to Daraja or through an aggregator is a real decision with trade-offs. We walk through it on the scoping call, and you can read it first in Daraja versus aggregators.

Payments we already run

  • Lipapi: our own wrapper around Daraja for developers who just want payments to work. A private build, no public site yet.
  • HackHouse Events: ticketing that takes M-Pesa and card payments, with QR check-in at the door.
  • TabFlow: prepaid dining for co-working spaces, with automatic split payments to vendors.
  • Mctaba Academy: courses you pay for as you go, on M-Pesa.

What affects the cost

Four things move a quote: how many rails you need, whether money also goes out (refunds, payouts, splits), how much reconciliation your finance team expects, and whether your accounts are already live with Safaricom.

We do not publish prices. After a scoping call we quote a fixed scope. For the line-by-line view, read what it costs to integrate M-Pesa for a business and how one checkout covers M-Pesa, MoMo and cards.

A working v1 usually lands in the first week, with weekly demos after it.

Want your own team to build it?

If your developers should own the integration, see corporate training, or send them to Payment Integration for Developers.

Frequently asked questions

Can you integrate M-Pesa, MTN MoMo and Airtel Money in one checkout?
Yes. We build one checkout screen that routes to each rail, with the right currency and a mobile-first layout.
Do you go direct to Daraja or use Paystack?
Both. Direct Daraja gives you control over STK Push, C2B, B2C and statement queries. Paystack suits teams who want several rails behind one provider. We recommend on the scoping call.
What happens when a customer pays twice or the callback never arrives?
Each payment has a state in your database, and a reconciliation job compares it with the provider. Duplicates and missing callbacks are caught and resolved, not left for finance to find.
Can you split one payment between several vendors?
Yes. We built this for TabFlow, which shares prepaid dining payments with vendors automatically.
How much does an M-Pesa integration cost?
It depends on the rails, whether money goes out as well as in, and the reconciliation you need. We quote after a free scoping call.
